Tournament Information

Dates:

Oct 14-16, 2011

Eligibility:

The tournament is open to amateurs who have been:

  • Invited by the Tournament Committee;
  • Apply and are accepted by the Tournament Committee;
  • or who have qualified through participation in the Local Qualifier.

Format:

The tournament format is 54 holes, stroke play. The field will be limited to 78 players, with no cut. There will also be a Mid Am Division.

Entry Procedure:

  • You may submit your application by clicking on Enter The Event above, or you may enter the local qualifier directly. Be sure to include a complete resume if you are requesting a Committee invitation. We need this not only for the Committee’s consideration but for the media as well. The final field will consist of Committee invitees and local qualifiers.
  • Applicants are encouraged to submit their application via this web site as early as possible. Beginning August 15th, the Committee will begin confirming placements into the final field.
  • Withdrawals prior to September 30th will be refunded their entry fees less a charge of $25. Entry fees will be refunded $185 between October 1st and October 9th. From October 10th on, no refunds will be made available for any reason.

Housing Accommodations:

For Junior & College Players no older than 24 at the start of the tournament, a limited amount of local housing will be available Thursday, Friday and Saturday night at no cost in our Volunteer’s homes.

Walking Only During Tournament Play:

  • Competitors may carry their own bag, bring a caddie, or they may hire one of our caddies. However, unless prior arrangements are made with the approval of the Committee, competitors must walk during the competition.
  • If a club caddie is desired, the club has a limited number available for hire by the player. Please indicate your interest in advance on your application.
    • Club Caddies are teenaged participants at the local The First Tee chapter. 
    • Club Caddies receive training prior to the event. 
    • The caddie fee is $35 per day plus tip.
  • Carts may be used during the Local Qualifier.

Practice Privileges:

Local Qualifier

Privileges of play at the course are extended to qualifier entrants from September 17, 2011 until September 30, 2011.  Cart fees are required for practice round participants at a fee of $17.00 per player.

Tournament Proper

Practice privileges for paid participants for the tournament proper are extended from October 1, 2010 until the start of the tournament. Cart fees are required for practice round participants at a fee of $17.00 per player.

    • Final Round Starting Times 8AM -10AM
    • Award Ceremony Following Play

Disruption due to Storms, Hurricanes: In the event the tournament cannot be played on the expected dates due to course damage from storms prior to the event, or evacuations required due to an approaching storm, the tournament will be rescheduled at the earliest practicable date. Player Entry Fee refunds, if any, will only be made after consideration by the Committee of a suitable refund policy.
